The 2004 Christmas season is over and everyone has now received that first dreaded credit card statement. The numbers on online sales are also now officially in.
So how did online merchants do in 2004?
The final tally of online sales during November and December 2004 topped a whopping $23 billion, up 25% from $18.4 billion in 2003. According to Rosalind Wells of the National Retail Foundation, online holiday retail sales are expected to continue growing faster every year.
Even more impressive is a strong last minute shopping blitz in the last week before Christmas. This year $1.22 billion was spent at online retailers, compared to last year’s $795 million. Over 1.5 times as much as in 2003!
But why miss out on the rest of the year? Get a jump on e-commerce now and take advantage of yearlong online sales.
